Vladlen Surgutskov, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2026.
He was born on August 19, 1940, in Barabash, Russia. He pursued higher education at the University in Moscow. After graduating, he moved to Kiev, Ukraine, where he married his wife Nelya and built a loving family. In 2007, he and Nelya moved to the United States to be closer to their daughter Marina.
Vladlen enjoyed fishing most of all and reading books. He had a calm, sweet spirit and a kind heart that touched those who knew him. He also had a special love for animals, who always chose him as their person. A true family man, he is survived by his three children, Marina, Alex, and Elena, who will forever cherish memories of his love and guidance. He is deeply missed and will be lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Timothy Furguson officiating. Burial will take place in Isabella.
