Violet Kamarainen, age 97, of Gladstone and formerly of Rock passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. She was born January 4, 1928 in Gladstone, MI and was the daughter of Gust and Lydia (Seppala) Aho. Violet grew up in Rock and graduated from Rock High School in 1946. She worked at the Faulk Cheese Factory in Rock and married Jaakko Theodore Kamarainen on July 24, 1948 at the Finn Hall in Rock. Together the couple raised three children and shared 57 years of marriage. Ted preceded Violet in death on March 18, 2005. Violet enjoyed bowling and watching the Detroit Red Wings hockey games.
Violet is survived by sons Jim Kamarainen of Gladstone and Robert (Sandy) Kamarainen of Edgerton, WI; daughter Sharon Kamarainen of Gladstone; grandchildren Shaylee, Breanna, Ella, Erik, and Jason; great grandchildren Chloe, Rory, Chase and Natalie and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers Paul and Ronald Aho.
Violet will be buried, in the spring of the year, next to her husband Ted, in the Rock Cemetery.
