Tobias "Tobi" Frederick

We are saddened to share that Tobias "Tobi" Frederick passed away January 28th, 2025. Born in Escanaba on November 4th, 2002.  He almost learned to ride before he learned to walk. He excelled at and loved riding any off-road vehicle, especially snowmobiles. Tobi graduated from Rapid River in 2021, where he played football, and later received his CDL. 

Tobi was known for his big heart. He was always asking, "Is there anything I can help with? Anything I can do for you?" He would never hang up the phone or say goodbye without saying, "I love you!" and gave the best hugs. He was a lover of animals, children, and music. Tobi "lived life wide open." His favorite place in the world was up at camp and he never missed a family gathering. He had the best, goofy, contagious laugh and was always smiling. He always had a distinct style, and you would rarely see him without his Jordan apparel or Arctic-cat green. 

Tobi is survived by his parents, Samantha (Chad Fox) Frederick and Matt (Melissa Padaoan) Hughes; grandparents Fred and Linda Calouette, Tari Calouette, Jim and Kathy Hughes; siblings Mason (Zoey LaPine) Frederick, Gabrielle (Mark Dukowitz) Frederick, and Andrew Hughes; beloved girlfriend, Sophia Royer; Uncle Cully (Elise) Calouette; Aunties Michelle (John) Kruzel, Desiree Calouette, Tracy (Rob) McInnery, Lori (Bert) Aittama, and Joan (Mike) Dahl; cousins, Tess Kruzel, Henry Kruzel, Cameron Calouette and Valerie Calouette; Nephews Zeke and Xion Dukowitz; best friends Toby Wagner and Jackson Hooten, and many great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Proceeded in death by great-grandparents, Mike and Joyce Calouette, and Catherine "Katy" and Millard Larsen. 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Tobi Frederick will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Culbertson officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the Ludington Room located in the Anderson Funeral Home.
