Timothy P. Gardiner

Timothy P. Gardiner, age 51, of Escanaba, passed away Sunday morning, June 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on January 31, 1967 in Escanaba, the son of Allen and Jeanette (Petersen) Gardiner. Tim was raised in Escanaba, was a 1985 graduate of Escanaba High School, and furthered his education at Bay de Noc Community College. He married the former Suzanne L. Calouette on June 17, 1989 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Together, the couple shared 29 years of marriage and raised one son, Joshua. He was employed for many years as a tradesman for the U.P. Plumbers, Pipefitters and HVAC, Local 111. Tim had a passion for building and fixing cars. Many people would recognize his well-known number 98 car in numerous IMCA modified races in the area. He was a huge NASCAR fan, a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba, and a union member of the U.P. Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 111 since 1992. Family meant the world to Tim. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, Amara, as she was the light of his life.

Timothy P. Gardiner is survived by his wife, Suzanne “Susie” Gardiner of Escanaba; one son, Joshua Gardiner of Escanaba; granddaughter, Amara Lily Gardiner of Escanaba; sister, Julie Gardiner of Escanaba; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Allen “Chick” and Jean Gardiner, he was preceded in death by his aunt, Joanne Dowell; and his uncle, Pastor Lewis Howard.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba with services to follow at 6:30 p.m. in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Gardiner family.
