Terry Lee Plouff

Terry Lee Plouff, age 62, of Gladstone (Flat Rock), passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his home. He was born on January 15, 1958 in Escanaba, the son of Eugene and Viola (Isaacson) Plouff. Terry was raised in Gladstone and was a 1976 graduate at Gladstone High School. Following graduation, Terry served his country in the National Guard for 12 years. In 1978, Terry started his working career with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad where he worked at the ore dock in the mechanical division until his retirement in 2016. He married the former Jill Lancour on August 1, 1981 in Gladstone. Together, the couple shared 39 years of marriage and raised one daughter, Jessica. Terry was greatly involved in the U.P. Garden Tractor Club where he served on the board for 18 years (15 of them as president). He loved the outdoors, motorsports, mud dragging, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling. Terry also had a special place in his heart living in Flat Rock. He loved life and lived it to its fullest. But most of all, he loved his family – especially his granddaughter.

Terry Lee Plouff is survived by his wife, Jill Plouff of Gladstone (Flat Rock); daughter, Jessica (Arthur) Carlson  of Escanaba; granddaughter, Sophia Carlson; brothers, James (Shurlee) Plouff of Gladstone, and Thomas (Cathy) Plouff of Marietta, GA; sister, Joyce (John) Culiton of St. Augustine, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by infant grandsons, Cameron Lee Carlson and Calvin Neil Carlson; and 3 brothers, Lloyd, Donny, and Clinton Plouff.

Private family visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Graveside Military Honors will take place at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Escanaba Township Cemetery in Flat Rock. Burial will take place following the Military Honors.
