Terry (Chella) Manninen, age 59, of Watson passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at U.P. Health Systems- Marquette. He was born August 23, 1964 in Escanaba and was the son of John E. and Marilyn C. (Trenary) Manninen. Chella graduated from Gwinn High School in 1982. He worked as the head sawyer for many years at Usher’s Sawmill in Watson. Terry touched the lives of many with his jolly personality. His friends and close neighbors were his extended family. His hobbies included hunting, bowling, stock car racing, riding side by side and throwing huge parties on the Ford River for “Chella’s Unofficial U.P. 200 Dog Sted Races in Watson”
Terry is survived by his mother Marilyn of Watson; sister Bonnie (Darryl) Leppanen of Rock; several aunts, uncles and cousins and special dog named Missy.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Terry (Chella) Manninen will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Fran DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the Ludington Room, located in the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Forest Home Cemetery in Watson.
