Sherri L. Horchner

Sherri Lynn Horchner, age 58, of Escanaba, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. She was born on March 4, 1962 in the Upper Peninsula, the daughter of Marvin A. and Mary Helen (Swann) Horchner. Sherri grew up in Escanaba and also attended Escanaba High School. She was employed for many years at Lakestate Industries in Escanaba. Sherri never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She loved reading, music, and watching sports – especially the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs. Sherri knew all of the sports statistics and would debate anyone about the teams and their chances of winning. She was a life-long member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Sherri will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sherri Lynn Horchner is survived by her sister, Linda (Kim) McClinchy of Waynesville, OH; nephew, Chuck McClinchy; her Guardian Angel, Peggy Baumler of Bark River, MI; special caregiver, Holly Derouin of Escanaba; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sherri was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Horchner on November 4, 2000; and her father, Marvin Horchner on February 21, 2017.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Sherri will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday with Rev. Paul Doletzky officiating. A live broadcast of Sherri’s funeral service can be viewed publicly at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, on Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church’s Facebook Page. Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
