Sheila L. Hillard

Sheila Lou Hillard of Rock, Michigan, age 75, passed away in her home on Sunday, November 10, 2024.

Sheila was born to Erwin and Leah (Stockwell) Johnson, Sr. on February 26, 1949, in Petosky, MI. She was raised in Northeast Michigan, graduated from Manton High School, and worked for NRG Energy in Cadillac, MI, until her retirement. In 2004 she and her husband moved to Pelkie, MI in 2004 and to Rock, MI in 2022. Sheila loved feeding the animals around the house and taking their pictures. She also enjoyed gardening and just being at home.

Sheila is survived by her husband Kim D. Hillard; sons Jason (Amy) Hillard of Okemos, MI, Jeremy Hillard of Thomasville, NC, Zachary Newpower of Monroe, MI, and Nathan (Kelly) Hillard of Brookhaven, NY; daughter Jess Hillard of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Oechli, Owen, Olivia, Ethan, Amy, Autumn, and Kyle; and brother Ron (Terri) Johnson of Alabama.

Sheila was a faithful member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Skandia.

A graveside service will take place on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Rock Cemetery with Pastor Lon Russell and Pastor Si Doctor officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Cemetery.
