Sandra S. Culvahouse

Sandra S. Culvahouse, age 79, of Rock passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 at the home of her son in Petoskey, MI. She was born January 3, 1946 and was the daughter of Leslie and Lucille Johnson. Sandie was employed all of her working career as a registered nurse working at St. Francis Hospital, U.P. Health Systems and later as a traveling nurse until her retirement.

Sandie never liked attention drawn to herself and requested that there be no memorial service. Instead has requested in remembrance of her life, please celebrate by sharing your money or time helping others in an unexpected way such as paying for someone’s groceries in line at the store or a meal at a restaurant in her name. She has always been a person of good will and loved to help others with her heart and strength and the family requests that by contributing to a stranger in this way her spirit will be shared and you will experience the joy she left throughout her life when doing for others.

Remember her in the ways she enjoyed her life, gathering around a pool table with friends, or playing a round of golf – and above all always dance!  Hug the ones you love!      

Sandie is survived by son Dallas Culvahouse of Petoskey, MI; daughter Sherrie Culvahouse of Rock, MI; son in law James Vanek of Ashley, MI; grandson Frederick Culvahouse of Chicago; brother Shephen Johnson of Lapeer, MI; sister Judy Hadel of Wells, MI and several nieces and nephews.

A private family gathering will be held at Sandie’s favorite spot on Drummond Island this summer.
