He was born on July 14, 1942 in Detroit, MI, the son of Walter and Inez (Luukkonen) Bottorff. Rodney was raised in the Detroit area where he also graduated from high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and met the love of his life, the former Linda Sue Weeks, while he was stationed at the U.S.O. (United Service Organization) in Camp Pendleton in Ocean City, CA. The couple were married on October 16, 1965 in Bellflower, CA and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2019. Together, the couple shared 54 years of marriage and raised their daughter, Cindy. Rod was employed by Young’s Market as a liquor distributor in Orange, CA for many years until his retirement. Rod had a wonderful sense of humor and loved spending time with his family as they meant the world to him.
