Robert G. Beckman

Robert George Beckman, Sr., age 75, of Chatham (Trenary), passed away Monday afternoon, May 30, 2022 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba. He was born on July 6, 1946 in Pontiac, MI, the son of Robert N. and Evelyn E. (Lange) Beckman. Bob graduated from Kettering High School in Waterford, MI in 1965. He went on to work as a tool and die maker for General Motors until his retirement in 1999. He married the former Barbara Miles on July 1, 1983 in Waterford, MI and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2016. Following retirement, Bob and Barbara relocated to the Upper Peninsula. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting.

Bob Beckman is survived by children, Barry Scott Beckman of Elmhurst, IL, Susan Lynn Beckman of Clarkston, MI, and Robert George Beckman, Jr. of Warren, MI; sister, Bonnie Lee Hess of Roscommon, MI; and brother, James Andrew Beckman of Clarkston, MI; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Bob will follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Quentin Glasure officiating.
