Obituary

Richard Eugene Kositzky, age 60, passed away peacefully March 9, 2023 at his home in Kenosha, WI after a battle with cancer. He was born on June 8, 1962 in Escanaba, the son of William and Anita (Glenwood) Kositzky. He attended Escanaba Area Schools where he lettered in track and football, graduating in 1980. Richard also worked at many local radio stations while in school. After graduation, he went to the Brown Broadcasting School in Minnesota, then he joined the Army Military Radio School. Rich went to Seoul, South Korea where he was the TV newsman AFKN for 6 years. In South Korea, he married Ms. Chung Mi Suk on March 14, 1987. After he left the Army, he and his wife, Mi, came to Escanaba and attended Bay College in Water Tech and also worked at WDBC. After graduation, he worked at Kenosha Water & Utility until he became ill in October.

Rich is survived by his wife, Mi Suk of Kenosha, WI; son, Benjamin Kositzky of Arizona; granddaughter, Emery; parents, William and Anita Kositzky of Escanaba; brother, Chris (Bobbi) Kositzky of Calumet, MI; and many aunts uncles, and cousins.

In keeping with Richard’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
