Richard Kenneth Brubaker, Sr., age 94, of Rapid River, MI passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI. He was born in 1931 in Detroit, MI and was the son of Russell and Ethel (Jacobson) Brubaker.
Richard graduated from Centerline High School and then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After he was discharged from the U.S. Navy Richard attended college and was employed with the Eaton Corporation in Marshall, MI as an engineer traveling all over the world. Richard was an inventor and held many different patents. Richard married Patricia Ann in 1955, and she preceded him in death in 2015.
Richard moved to the Stonington Peninsula in 2022. He enjoyed feeding the birds and turkeys on his property in Stonington. He was known as “Mr. Fix it” and loved to stay busy. Richard would get up early every day so he could squeeze all the juice out of each and every day! He also enjoyed astronomy and studying the universe.
Richard is survived by children Debbie (Al) Franzoni of Charlevoix, MI, Richard Kenneth Brubaker, Jr. of Rapid River, MI, John Michael Brubaker of Rapid River, MI, Mary Ann (Keith) Middleton of North Branch, MI, Karl Joseph Brubaker of Detroit, MI and Lawrence David Brubaker of North Carolina; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three brothers Russell, Thomas and Keith Brubaker.
Burial will take place in Clinton Township, MI at a later date.
