Rhodney Louis Savard

Rhodney Louis Savard, age 83, of Wells, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at U.P. Health System – Marquette. He was born on November 27, 1938 in St. Ignace, MI, the youngest of seven children to William and Marie (Raymond) Savard. Rhodney married the former Kathleen “Kathy” Widmayer in 1957 in St. Ignace, MI and she preceded him in death on April 23, 2020. Together, the couple shared 63 years of marriage. Rhodney enlised in the U.S. Army in 1957 and was stationed in Alaska until he was honorably discharged in 1959. He joined the Iron Workers Union #783 in Marquette on August 1, 1961 and worked for them until 1994 when they became Iron Workers Union Local #8 out of Milwaukee, WI. It was at this time, he also purchased the Harbor Light Bar in Escanaba on June 6, 1994 and operated the business until his retirement.

Rhodney is survived by his daughter, Julie Savard of Wells; 3 grandchildren, Sebastian, Axel, and Danielle; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Rhodney was preceded in death by his son, Raymond William Savard.
