Raymond Francis Frenette, age 91, of Escanaba passed away Tuesday September 12, 2023 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. He was born July 19, 1932 in Hancock, MI and was the son of Raymond J. and Inza (Lamothe) Frenette. Ray graduated from Hancock High School and then entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving at Fort Knox in Tennessee. He married the former Betty Miller on February 15, 1958 in Hancock, MI. Ray was employed as a painter all of his working years, working in the Houghton and Hancock area, and many winters in Florida and Las Vegas until his retirement. Ray and Betty moved to Escanaba in 2016. Ray was an avid golfer and was a member of the Portage Lake Golf Club and Escanaba Country Club. Raymond F. Frenette is survived by; son Mike (Kathy Ross) Frenette of Hancock; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister Claire (Ray) Kolehmainen of Hancock; brother Gerard “Fuzzy” Frenette of Green Bay, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter Tammy Swisher and sister Janet Weller.
Private family services were held at the Anderson Funeral Home.
