Randy William Gardner

Randy William Gardner, age 68, of Rapid River, MI passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at U.P. Health Systems- Marquette. He was born June 22, 1956 in Flint, MI and was the son of Donald and Sandra (Dye) Gardner. Randy serviced in the U.S. Marines until he was honorably discharged and then was employed with General Motors for 32 years.  He started with G.M. at the Fisher Body Plant in Flint and then he worked at the G.M. Delphi plant in Saginaw retiring as a journeyman in 2009. Randy moved to Rapid River in 2010. Randy loved to work with his hands and enjoyed helping others. He gave his life to the Lord and appreciated the beauty of God’s creation that was given to him each and every  day living in the U.P.

Randy is survived by his parents Donald and Sandra Gardner of Rapid River, children Heather Wazny of Atlanta, MI, James Gardner of Des Moines, Iowa, Robert Gardner of Birch Run, MI, Michael Gardner of Rapid River, MI and Matthew Gardner of Saginaw, MI; many grandchildren, one great grandchild, sister Pamela Schafer and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by grandson Jordan and brothers Billy Don and Richard.

A celebration of life service will be held in honor of Randy this summer in Rapid River.
