Pierre Joseph Tousignant, age 73, of Escanaba, passed away Monday evening, November 2, 2020 at his home in Escanaba. He was born on April 22, 1947 in Ste. Cecile de Levard, Quebec, Canada, the son of Aimé and Yvette (Trottier) Tousignant. Pierre was raised and attended school in Canada where he also graduated from trade school. He married the former Judith Sauve on April 27, 1973 in Escanaba. Together, the couple shared 47 years of marriage. Pierre was a union electrician and a member of the IBEW #568 for 55 years. He was a self-taught computer geek and enjoyed sharing his expertise with family and friends. Other interests included camping, mowing the lawn, rooting for the Green Bay Packers (his backup team, the Patriots, if the Packers weren’t doing well), and the PGA. Pierre also loved his three cats dearly, Emme, Rufas, and Zoey.
Pierre Joseph Tousignant is survived by his wife, Judith Tousignant of Escanaba; mother, Yvette Trottier of Canada; sisters, Nicole Tousignant, Claudette Tousignant (Gaétan Magny), and Michele Tousignant (Bruno Paradis) all of Quebec, Canada; nephew, Stephane Daoust of Quebec, Canada; sisters-in-law, Marge Sauve of Gladstone, and Karen (Dennis) Maufort of Gladstone; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends across the country. In addition, special loved ones, Tina McKendry of Key West, FL, Cory Purcell of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, and Cambrianna Finegan of Newark, DE.
Private family visitation and funeral services will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba with Father Rick Courier officiating. Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations please be directed to the Delta County Animal Shelter, the Delta County Cancer Alliance, or if one cannot donate, always show kindness to others. The Tousignant family would like to thank Marge Sauve and Karen Anderson for all of their help during Pierre’s illness. In addition, a special thank you to Green Bay Oncology and staff and Dr. Rudolph Evonich of Marquette for the care and kindness they showed Pierre during his long battle with cancer and heart disease.
