Orval Dale Lancour, 82 of Post Falls, Idaho passed away peacefully at his home on September 16, 2024.
Orval was born at home on October 25, 1941 in Wells Township, Michigan to Clarence and Blanche (Hobbs) Lancour and grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He spent four years in the Marine Corps. Married Joyce (Lund) in July 1964. He worked for Armor Meat Packing for a year before they moved to the Silver Valley in North Idaho. He spent 30 years mining in the Silver Valley, 7 years in Alaska, several other states and South America.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Joyce, his son Kevin, daughter Kristen (Lee) Thompson, grandson, Troy Lancour; granddaughters, Jocelyn Thompson and Kahrena Thompson; and step-granddaughter, Jame Alluisi.
He is predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Dwight, Pete, Ralph, Lawrence and Danny Lancour; and sisters, Joyce Ketola, Blanche Latvala, Margaret Blake, Dorothy Dupont and Marilyn.
Burial will take place in Negaunee Cemetery in Negaunee with full military honors conducted by the Rock American Legion Post 559 on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
