Nancy J. Peterson

Nancy Jean Peterson, age 74, of Escanaba passed away Wednesday August 9, 2023 at U.P. Health Systems- Marquette. She was born July 21, 1949 in Escanaba, Mich. and was the daughter of George Edmund and Ruth Ethel (Carlson) Peterson. Nancy graduated from Escanaba High School in 1968 and then attended Bryant and Stratton Business College in Milwaukee, Wis. graduating in 1970. Nancy was employed as a secretary all of her working years, starting with the U.S. Government at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Gwinn, Mich. with the fire department until the base closed. She then worked back in Escanaba until her retirement. Nancy was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and enjoyed working on her computer. Celebrating Birthdays and Christmas was very special to Nancy and she enjoyed sending and receiving Holiday and Birthday Cards.

Nancy is survived by her brother, James (Colene) Peterson of Escanaba; niece, Debora (Aaron) Bersch of Green Bay, Wis.; nephew, Douglas Peterson of Kalamazoo, Mich.; grandnephew, Tomas and several cousins.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, August 18, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Nancy will follow at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Lily Brondyke officiating. Entombment will take place at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
