Molly Lynn (McDonough) Slayton

Molly Lynn (McDonough) Slayton, age 56, of Kenosha, WI, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. She was born on July 26, 1965 in Escanaba, the daughter and youngest child of Robert and M. Jean (Good) McDonough. Molly attended school in Escanaba until her senior year when her parents relocated to Fond du Lac, WI where she graduated from St. Mary’s Springs High School in 1983. She was employed in the prison system as a correctional sergeant in the State of Wisconsin until her retirement in 2021 due to health reasons.

Molly married David Slayton II on September 12, 2011 in Kenosha, WI. The couple shared many years together and countless memories. Molly has two children in college, Kailee and Jacob, whom she loved very much and enjoyed watching them play sports. She was a huge animal lover, especially of her several dogs throughout the years. Her baby, though, was her 140-pound Rottweiler. Molly enjoyed life and looked forward to traveling to various places by motorcycle. She and Dave traveled to several states on the East coast, to New Orleans, and to Canada.

Molly was a very giving person her entire life and gave the ultimate gift as an organ donor when she passed away. Both of her kidneys were given to two recipients. Molly was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend who will be greatly missed by all.

Molly is survived by her husband, David Slayton of Kenosha, WI; children, Kailee Seeger of Kenosha, WI, and Jacob Seeger of Kenosha, WI; sisters, Kristine (Rick) Anderson of Escanaba, and Nancy (Mark) Miller of Bradenton, FL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

In addition to her parents, Molly was preceded in death by her brother, John McDonough on January 24, 2022.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Molly’s birthday, Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Escanaba with Father Robb Jurkovich officiating. Burial will take place following the services in the Bark River Cemetery. A gathering will held after the committal services at the Bark River Township Park.
