Michael Scott Upton

Michael Scott Upton, age 60, of Manistique, MI passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at his home in Manistique. His parents are Robert and Diane (North) Upton. Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard and then was employed in the logging industry and did trucking until his retirement. He married the former Erthel Banks on October 10, 2014, in Manistique. Mike enjoyed making knives, collecting guns and knives and hunting and fishing and being in the outdoors.

Michael is survived by wife Erthel; mother Diane Upton of Manistique; children Kyle (Ciarra) Upton of Escanaba, Laura Upton of Escanaba and Ajax Pineau of Escanaba; sister Kristin Berendt of Gulliver; children Erin (Brandon) Bruner, Florence Hoats, Jennifer Banks and Stephanie Banks; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life gathering will be held in the spring of next year.
