Michael Case Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael James Case, a beloved son,  husband, father, and grandfather. Mike departed this world on December 17, leaving behind a legacy of love, commitment, and tireless dedication to his family and career. He leaves behind his father, Gorden Case, wife, Ruth Case, daughter Casey (Tim) Gozdor, and son James (Tatiana) Case, along with his grandchildren, siblings, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Maureen Case.

Born on November 12, 1957, to Gorden (Mickey) and Maureen Case, Mike grew up surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He spent his childhood in Rives Junction, Michigan with his brothers (Brian and Ron Case) and sister (Lyn Phillips).   On May 14, 1978, he embarked on a lifelong journey with his high school sweetheart, Ruth, forging a union that would stand the test of time. Their love was a testament to the enduring power of commitment and companionship.

Mike was a loving and devoted father to his children, Casey Lynn (Tim) Gozdor and James Michael (Tatiana) Case. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in witnessing the accomplishments and joys of his children. He was also a doting grandfather  who found immense joy in the laughter and play of his granddaughters  Callie, Cataleia, Jamie, and Brooke. His eyes would light up at the mention of their names, and his heart swelled with pride at their every achievement.  The bonds of family were the source of his greatest joy and fulfillment.

A man of many passions, Mike truly enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors. Whether it was the tranquility of a hunting trip up north, the exhilaration of a ride on the trails, or the simple pleasure of a quiet afternoon building his newest deer blind, he found solace and connection in the natural world. His appreciation for the outdoors was infectious, and he shared this love with family and friends, creating cherished memories that will endure.

Mike's retirement in 2022 from Guardian Industries/Knauf Insulation marked the end of a distinguished 38-year career. His professional achievements were a testament to his work ethic, leaving his mark on the hearts of his colleagues and the legacy of the company.

In the rhythm of his daily life, Michael found comfort in the ritual of sipping his favorite coffee, scrolling social media, reading, and indulging in Ruth’s sweet treats. These small pleasures illuminated his days and added a touch of sweetness to his routine. His love for coffee and sweets became a signature part of his personality, a simple joy that reflected the warmth that defined him.

Beyond the professional arena, Michael was known for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. His warm smile and friendly demeanor endeared him to everyone he encountered, creating a lasting impact on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

As we bid farewell to Mike, let us remember the man who embraced life with open arms, finding joy in family, nature, and the little pleasures that make life beautiful. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will be a source of inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Arrangements for a celebration of life will be shared at a later date.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
