Marlene N. Wery, age 80, of Marinette, WI (formerly of Wilson, MI), passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 23, 2021 at Aurora Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, WI. She was born on December 8, 1940 in New London, WI, the daughter of Walter and Nora (DeLaureael) Dietrich. The former Marlene Dietrich married Raymond Lee Wery on July 2, 1961 in Wilson and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2013. Together, the couple shared nearly 52 years of marriage and raised 4 children. Marlene was a proud homemaker and cared for her husband and children. She enjoyed crocheting and loved spending time with her family and dogs.
Marlene N. Wery is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Greg) Emmer of Green Bay, WI, and Melissa (Peter) Moran of Norway, MI; two sons, Mark (Tanya) Wery of Ripon, WI, and Brian (Mary Brown – Wery) Wery of Spotsylvania, VA; 8 grandchildren, Cassandra, Sarah, Tarra, Rebecca, Whitney, Zachary, Chase, and Garison; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Marlene will follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, with Rev. Stephen Cowen officiating. Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
