Mark Calouette Obituary

On Thursday, July 2, 2020, Mark Alan Calouette passed away at home, age 60, from liver disease.

Mark was born on July 6, 1959 in Escanaba to Mike and Joyce (Brassick) Calouette. On September 9, 1979 he was united in marriage with Sandra Ann Bergeon. He was a machinist with the family business before founding his own successful machine shop in 1988.

Mark was known as much for his hard work and diligence at making a good product as he was for his stubbornness. When not at the shop he could be found tinkering in his garage, fishing for salmon with his friends, or waiting at camp for the hunters to come back. The only thing that surpassed his stubbornness was his fierce loyalty to his friends and family. Mark was a long-time member of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Catholic Church in Escanaba.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; his two children, Casey (Jenny) Calouette and Katy (Clem) Larson; a grandson, Walter; brothers, Fred, and Todd; and a sister, Debbie Calouette.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce; and father, Mike.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone with Father Tim Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery. A celebration of Mark's life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the kind nurses at UPHS Hospice along with Gayla, Travis, and the crew at Gentle Hands for all of their help.
