Margaret Faye Peterson Obituary

Margaret “Faye” Peterson, 86, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Christian Park Healthcare Center. She was born on October 28, 1933 in Ovett, MS, the daughter of Robert and Inez (Woodard) Bunch. Faye married Kenneth D. Peterson on November 2, 1951 at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. In 1958, she and her husband Kenneth moved to Escanaba to raise their 3 sons.

Faye was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and spent many years sewing with her friends at Bethany. In her younger years, Faye and her husband enjoyed snowmobiling and camping with their friends throughout the U.P.

She also enjoyed coffee with her friends, cooking, baking, playing cards, watching the Hallmark channel with her lapdog Moe, and looked forward to Sunday night dinners with her youngest son and his family. Rides for ice cream with her granddaughters was always a special time. Faye’s family was extremely important to her and prior to her husband’s passing, they enjoyed traveling to different states visiting family. She truly loved and often talked about her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Faye is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Carol) Peterson of Spring, TX., Michael (Christi) Peterson of Tomball, TX., and Scott (Linda) Peterson of Escanaba; six grandchildren, Kirsten (Josh) Thorngate, Erik (Jessica) Peterson, Bryan Peterson, Sarah Peterson, Aubree Peterson, and Addison Peterson; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Brynley; her brothers, Bill Bunch, Bobby Bunch, Roy Bunch; her sister, Hilda Flowers; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Moe.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; and brother George Bunch.
