Margaret Greenlund Obituary

Margaret Greenlund, age 77, of Rapid River passed away peacefully at home, following a brief battle with cancer, on March 12, 2024. She was born April 13, 1946 in Escanaba and was the daughter of William and Gladys Carroll of Stonington. The former Margaret Carroll married Robert Greenlund on October 28, 1967 and together they raised three children. William, Cheryl, and Sarah. Margaret was a hardworking, fun-loving person who always had the coffee pot on. Over the years she had many people call her “Ma” and Grandma.” She was greatly loved by all and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Margaret is survived by her husband Robert; son William (Cindy) Greenlund of Stonington; daughters Cheryl (Fred) Asbury of Gladstone and Sarah Maki of Escanaba.  Grandchildren Deana Theunissen, Samantha Greenlund, Robert Asbury, Donald Asbury, James Greenlund, Raeanna Maki, Jacob Maki and Erin Maki.  Great Grandchildren Chase, Serenity, William, Hunter, Everleigh, Cheryl, and Addison Margaret.  

Private family burial services, will be held in the spring of the year, at Masonville Township Cemetery in Rapid River. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Delta County Cancer Alliance. The family would like to give a special shout out to the OSF Hospice Team and the many special friends and family who helped the Greenlund family get through this most difficult time.
