Lynn Rosemurgy, 76, of Escanaba, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at her home. Lynn was born November 15, 1942, the daughter of Leonard and Marian Baillargeon (Mickelson). Lynn graduated Escanaba High School in 1961 and attended Northern Michigan University. She married Robert Rosemurgy of Escanaba on May 20, 1967, and the couple celebrated over 50 years of marriage. They had three children—Stephen, Catie, and Annie—and enjoyed their four grandchildren immensely.
Everything Lynn did, she did with gusto and joy. As a young woman she was a versatile and enthusiastic athlete who played tennis, golf, racquetball, and loved to cross-country ski and cycle. She was an excellent cook and found inspiration in cooking until her very last days. She liked nothing better than bringing people together. She was always up for a good party and hosted many. The details mattered to her—from a beautifully set table to a properly diced mirepoix and a perfectly poured martini. A voracious reader who was ever curious about the world around her, she paid careful attention to the landscape and the creatures out her window. She never turned down a game, and was a formidable force in any game involving words. Lynn loved travel, visits with her grandchildren, and evenings with her “birthday group.” Her life was devoted to family—her grown children already miss her charm, her humor, her keen insights and observations.
Lynn Rosemurgy is survived by her husband, Robert, and their three children, son Stephen (Helyn) and daughters Catie and Annie (David) and four grandchildren, Colin, Ian, Izzy, and Burley.
A memorial service will be held for Lynn’s friends at the First Presbyterian Church in Escanaba on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Kyle Segars officiating.
