Lynn Beverly Kositzke Blixt

Lynn Beverly (Possi) Kositzke Blixt, age 74, of Escanaba, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 5, 2019 at UP Health System – Marquette. She was born on July 25, 1945 in Norway, MI, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Nelson) Possi. Her family relocated to Escanaba where she attended Escanaba High School. The former Lynn Possi married the late Leroy “Tuffy” Kositzke in 1963 and he preceded her in death in May of 2010. Together, the couple shared 47 years of marriage. Lynn recently married her second husband, Rockford “Rocky” Blixt on January 19, 2019 and enjoyed nearly 10 months of love and laughter. Lynn enjoyed cooking – especially her delicious and well-known Chicago style pizza that people still talk about to this day. She found joy in making people laugh, giving away gag gifts, playing games, and entertaining others. Lynn was all about her family and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She had a huge place in her heart for animals, especially her dogs, Maggy Mae and Lucky. Lynn always had a happy and positive attitude about her. The love she found and had in a short amount of time was the love of a lifetime – she was incredibly happy.

Lynn Kositzke Blixt is survived by her husband, Rocky of Escanaba; sons, Todd (Heide) Kositzke of Escanaba, Adam (Terra) Kositzke of Green Bay, WI; daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Murray of Powers, MI; 4 step-children; 7 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Leroy, Lynn was preceded in death by her son, Keith Kositzke; daughter-in-law, Amy Lynn Chenier - Kositzke; and her brothers, Doug and David.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Central United Methodist Church in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Lynn will follow at 4:00 p.m., Monday, with Rev. Elise Low Edwardson officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in the Norway Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the family.
