Lorraine Eleanor (Savola) Anderson, 78, of Gladstone, MI passed away November 11, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba after a short battle with COVID-19.
Lorraine was born on May 22, 1942 in Munising, MI. She lived her childhood in Trenary, MI and then Negaunee, MI. There, she met Louis John Anderson, Sr. and were married on October 1, 1960. They lived in Hancock, MI for 15 years raising their sons, and later moved to Escanaba, MI and Gladstone, MI.
She worked as a bank teller for State Bank for 30+ years. Lorraine loved to knit, read, play cards and games. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She spent many weekends golfing and camping. Lorraine enjoyed her flowers and watching the birds and butterflies. But most of all, Lorraine loved to spend time with her family and friends. She loved a good party with music and dancing. She had a zest for life. No matter what was happening she wasn't going to let it get her down. She saw the best in people. Her kind and caring ways always made you smile. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She thoroughly enjoyed spoiling her dog, Mikey, and all her grandpups. She will be greatly missed for her loving smile.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 60 years, Louis John Anderson, Sr.; their four sons, Jim (Judy) Anderson of Gladstone MI, Jeffrey (Patty) Anderson of Bark River, MI, Louie JR (Peg) Anderson of Gladstone MI, and Danny (Becky) Anderson of Malone WI; 10 grandchildren, Jamie, Joe, Katie, Kelly, Samantha, Mandy, Alexis, Brittany, Jacob, and Mykayla; 28 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Rodney Savola, John Savola, and Gail (Cliff) Moser; her in-laws, Bob (Mary) Anderson and Judy Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She had many special friends including Cathy Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philo and Elmer Savola; brothers, Colin Ray, Bob and Tom Savola; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Andrea and Otto Anderson; and her brother-in-law, Ray Anderson.
Private family visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba with Father Robb Jurkovich officiating. Lorraine's family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
