Kevin Timothy Plourde

Kevin Timothy Plourde, age 38, of Cornell, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI. He was born on January 10, 1985 in Escanaba, MI and was the son of Bruce and Lynn (Hurkman) Plourde. Kevin was raised in Cornell and attended school in Escanaba and was a 2003 graduate of Escanaba High School. He was employed by the family business, Bruce Plourde Trucking Company in Cornell. Kevin had a “Need for Speed!” and loved racing. That passion was passed on to his three boys - that he loved dearly. Kevin’s number was 17 and he loved flying through the air, flinging dirt on the track and tearing up the ice on his quad. Kevin loved hanging out with his family and friends and enjoyed the simple things in life such as just sitting by a fire.

Kevin is survived by his sons, Kaleb, Gunner and Gannon Plourde; parents Bruce and Lynn Plourde; sister Elektra Plourde; aunts and uncles, Donald Plourde, Lynn (David) Carignan, Cindy LaBombarb, Laurie (Phillip) Reynolds, Lori (Mike) Lynch, Tim Hurkman, Lisa (Mike) Hurkman, Crazy Leslie (Bill) Mattson and great aunt Tina (Roger) Hironen; step grandmother Bonnie Hurkmans and several cousins.  Best aunt and friend who was always there for us and Best Race Fan, Michelle DeShambo Lynch.  Best Pal “Little Pete” and many great friends including Dickie & Ashley and Bear Bear.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Mary Hurkman and Don and Betty Plourde.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday October 21, 2023, at the Rusty Rail in Cornell. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Plourde family in memory of Kevin. The Anderson Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone are assisting the Plourde family and online remembrances can be shared at www.andersonfuneralhomes.net.
