Keith D. LaValley

Keith D. LaValley, age 66, of Escanaba, passed away Monday evening, November 14, 2022 at his home. He was born on July 26, 1956 in Newberry, MI, the son of Ernest and Rose (Kinnart) LaValley. At a young age, Keith was raised by his aunt and uncle, Darlene and Glen LaValley, he attended school in Rapid River and was a 1976 graduate of Rapid River High School. In 1995, Keith met his partner, Leo Evans, and together shared 27 wonderful years together. Keith was employed at Christian Park Village and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 35 years until his retirement in June of 2020. He truly loved his job and the residents held a special place in his heart. Keith greatly enjoyed his flowers he planted each year, gardening, and was very talented with interior decorating. Creating a neat and nice home was very important to him. Every year, Keith and Leo looked forward to Christmas decorating and entertaining during the holiday season. It was the ultimate goal to have their interior and exterior Christmas decorating done by Thanksgiving night so the lights could be on for all to enjoy.

Keith is survived by his partner, Leo Evans of Escanaba; extended family, Laura (Tom) Stemick of Escanaba, Beverly Evans of Escanaba, Randy Evans of Burlington, VT, Linda Myers of Escanaba, Judy Beaudry of Mason, MI, William (Sonya) Evans of L’Anse, MI, and Cheryl Rae of Escanaba; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and close friend, Sandy Guenette of Escanaba.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Rose LaValley; Leo T. Evans and Donald Evans.
