Karen Ann Ziebell, Age 83, of Escanaba passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Christian Park Village in Escanaba. She was born October 6, 1942, in Escanaba, MI and was the daughter of Charles and Priscilla (Guindon) Heath. Karen graduated from Bishop Baraga Catholic High School in Marquette and later attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She later worked for Walt Disney Imagineering and then moved back to Escanaba in 1978 and was employed as a secretary for the nursing department at Bay de Noc Community College until her retirement.
Her generous and selfless spirit touched countless lives and she was always the first to offer help and the last to ask for it. A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, family meant the world to her. You could always find her having a conversation over a cup of coffee while playing a good game of cards at her kitchen table. She loved to bake and will be remembered for her Puppy Chow, Chex Mix and Jell-O squares!
Karen is survived by son, Richard (Shari Carrothers Ziebell) Ziebell of Clarksville, TN; daughter-in-law, Beverly Ziebell of Escanaba; six grandchildren: Heath Ziebell, Haley Ziebell, Hannah Ziebell, Charissa (Glen) Hanisko, Jennilee (Kameron) Weise, and Katherine Ziebell; four great grandchildren; Spencer, Charlotte and Addilyn Hanisko, Cristian and Gabe Spear, Karson and Archer Weise. Special niece, Helen Lokar and special nephews Charles and Dave Heath.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Arthur W. Ziebell, III, two brothers Charles “Bob” Heath and Paul “Butch” Heath and special friend Charles Van Sloten.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-4:00 pm Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Karen Ziebell will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Rick Courier officiating. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
