June B. Pearson

June B. Pearson, age 74, of Escanaba, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at Christian Park Village after a brief bout with Leukemia and a stroke. She was born on June 28, 1948 in Escanaba, the daughter of Walter and Irene (Erickson) Pakulski. She was raised and attended school in Escanaba where she was a 1966 graduate of Escanaba High School. June worked for U.P Power just out of high school for 6 years, then for the next 30 years at MDOT, retiring in 2002. Then she worked part-time driving for MP Transport for 7+ years, which she enjoyed very much. June was a lifetime member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Escanaba. She bowled at Holiday Bowl for 30 years and had many 300 games. Her pastimes included cribbage on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Bingo on Sundays and Mondays with her sister, Laverne, and friends. Her favorite number was I-22. June was past president of the Legion Auxiliary Unit 115 in Flat Rock, and belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary in Escanaba. She was an avid hunter of partridge, deer, and turkey, and loved telling her stories about her conquests.

June is survived by her sisters, Laverne Picard of Escanaba, and Rose Overly of Green Bay, WI; brother, James Pearson of Escanaba; nieces and nephews, Chris, David, Kathy, Samantha, and Kevin; and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by special niece, Patty Picard; and special friend, Arnie Johnson who passed away 10 months ago.

The family would like to extend many thanks to all of the staff and nurses at Escanaba Oncology, St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, and especially to all of the wonderful people at Christian Park Village for the dedication at meeting her every need. And for all of the prayers from loved ones and so many – many friends. Also, a special thank you to Karen and Joe Dillabough for helping Rose and Laverne through this journey with their precious “June Bug.”
