Janet Emily Roshak

Janet Emily Roshak, age 82, formerly of Wells, currently of Kingsford, MI passed away Saturday, January 20, 

2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI. She was born May 16, 1941 in Escanaba, MI and was the daughter 

of Sam and Marby (Boes) Petrie. Janet grew up in Wells and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1958. Janet 

was employed with First National Bank in Escanaba. The former Janet Petrie married George Joseph Roshak on 

October 9, 1965 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba and he preceded her in death on March 26, 

2010. Janet and George moved to Kingsford in the early 1990’s. Janet enjoyed sewing, making crafts, and reading 

books. She was also a member of the Refunder’s Club and would always cut coupons. 

Janet is survived by two sons, Mark Roshak of Kingsford, MI and Paul Roshak of Abbeville, SC; grandchildren, 

Andrew, Devin and Hunter and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (E.S.T.), Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Anderson Funeral 

Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Janet Roshak will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at the 

Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Cowen officiating. A luncheon will be serviced following the 

funeral services in the Ludington Room located at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the 

Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
