James Joseph Raminger, age 84, of Escanaba, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Hospital. He was born on June 6, 1938 in Menominee, MI, the son of Joseph William and Margaret M. (Hendrickson) Raminger. James was raised and attended school in Menominee where he also graduated from high school. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Air Force on July 17, 1956 and served his country until he was honorably discharged on July 16, 1960. After returning home, James began working for Virginia Concrete as a truck driver. In 1985, he moved to Escanaba and was employed by Gold Star Tours driving charter busses until his retirement. James enjoyed living in the Upper Peninsula, going to camp, hunting, and driving.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Raminger of Linden, VA; grandson, Camden Raminger; twin sister, Mary Jane (Griffin) Lindsay of Marinette, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by sisters, Carol, Susan, and Pam; and brother, Gary.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Gladstone American Legion Post 71 being assisted by the Grand Forks AFB Honor Guard at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba.
