Henrietta D. Miller, age 87, of Gladstone, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. She was born on September 24, 1932 in Escanaba, the daughter of Carl and Barbara (Young) Olson. Henrietta was raised and attended school in Gladstone and was a 1951 graduate of Gladstone High School. The former Henrietta Olson married Robert Miller on November 29, 1952 at Bethany Lutheran Church. Together, the couple shared many wonderful years of marriage and raised three children, Jim, Diane, and Mary. Henrietta was a waitress at the Dew Drop Inn located in Gladstone. She waited on many people throughout her working years until her retirement in 1994. Henrietta was a member of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program where she worked at the front desk at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. She also volunteered at the Community Action Agency, worked on the election board in Gladstone, served on the Board of Review in Gladstone, and was a member of the Gladstone American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Henrietta was an avid Green Bay Packers and Detroit Tigers fan. She greatly enjoyed entering football pools – hoping for a win! Henrietta will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
Henrietta D. Miller is survived by daughters, Diane (Robert) Krouth, and Mary (Dave) Cowen; grandchildren, Krista (Kevin) Warm, Kelsey Cowen, Josh Cowen, Craig (Alicia) Krouth, and Kari (Joel) Nordin; great-grandchildren, Karl and Kaleb Warm, John and Vivian Krouth, and Olivia Nordin; nephew, Dennis Fraid; and niece, Barb Reed.
In addition to her parents, Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Miller; son, Jim Miller; and sister, Leona Fraid.
Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020 in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Cowen officiating.
