Helen Elizabeth Minor

Helen Elizabeth Minor, age 95, formerly of Escanaba, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City, MI. She was born on February 16, 1925 in Evansville, IN, the daughter of John and Luida (Thompson) Grigsby. Helen grew up and attended school in Evansville. For a few years, she was an in-home babysitter and cared for families. The former Helen Grigsby married Harold “Sonny” Minor in August of 1960 and he preceded her in death in December of 1989. Together, the couple shared 29 years of marriage. They resided in Gladstone for many years before moving to Wells. In 2011, she relocated to Traverse City, MI.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Helen will follow at 1:30 p.m., Friday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Meyette officiating. Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials please be directed to a charity of one’s choice in Helen’s name.
