Harold Marvin Anderson, age 78, of Ford River, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home. He was born on December 31, 1942 in Seymour, IN, the son of Melvin E. and Catherine M. (Juhl) Anderson. Harold was raised in Escanaba and was a 1962 graduate of Escanaba High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on December 27, 1963 and served his country as a machinist mate during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged on December 7, 1967. Harold was employed as a laborer for Roy Ness Contracting in Escanaba for 31 years until his retirement in November of 2005. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, spending time outdoors – especially in the woods. Harold also liked feeding and watching the birds and planting trees.
Harold M. Anderson is survived by his siblings, Betty Kasbohm of Escanaba, Roy (Laurie) Anderson of GA, Shirley Anderson, and June (Jim) Larsen of Escanaba; several nieces and nephews; and many friends at the Ford River Pub.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Catherine Anderson.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Military Honors will be conducted by the Delta County Veterans Council at 2:00 p.m., Friday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services celebrating the life of Harold will follow with Rev. Stephen Cowen officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery.
