Grace Bronkema, 84, of Gladstone, MI, passed away July 24, 2024 at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique, Mi. She was born August 16, 1939 to the late Roelff and Lillian Bronkema in Coopersville, MI.
For years she was heavily involved in 4-H as a leader. She had a passion for horses whether it involved training and showing horses. She also competed in speed and action competitions and taught kids to ride and show them as well.
Grace was a large fan of all things racing. She could be found any given weekend at the Berlin Fairgrounds racetrack. Her biggest passion was for Sprint Car racing. She made many friends amongst the racing community where she could also be found hanging out in the pit with the drivers and their crews. She could be found passing out hugs to everyone, as she always said, she doesn’t shake hands, she only hugs.
Grace loved a good card game, Bingo night and enjoyed the casinos from time to time. She surely was not one to sit still, if at all possible.
Grace is survived by her twin daughters, Tammi Bok (James), Bryan, OH and Terri Perkins (Steve), Thompson Falls, MT; grandson, Nick Paganini (Sophia) and great grandchildren of Sonoma, CA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Robert Sellon, Grand Rapids, MI and her daughter Dennie Paganini (Sellon) of Sonoma, CA.
Private services were held at Anderson Funeral Home.
