Gordon Daniel Baker III of Gwinn, Michigan, formerly of Escanaba, age 32, passed away on December 8, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, Wis. He was born November 5, 1992 in Escanaba, MI and was the son of Gordon Daniel Baker, Jr. and Angelique Lor Valiquette. Gordon graduated from Escanaba High School and then was employed at Hardees, Taco Bell. FedEx and most recently Andex Industries. Gordon had a great personality and was a jokester! He was a joy to everyone and would help anyone in need. His son Elijah was the center of his life and loved taking adventures and spending time with him. Gordon was a family man and loved all his siblings, nieces and nephews and mother Angelique. Every summer they would do an adventure together. Gordon enjoyed video games, reading books, the outdoors and fishing.
Gordon is survived by his son Elijah, mother Angelique Valiquette of Gwinn, Father Gordon Daniel Baker, Jr. of Manistique; siblings Clarissa (Matt) Gobert of Gladstone, Michael (Robin) Marsh of Gwinn, Natasha Marsh, Dominick Fontaine (finance Kaitlyn) of Gwinn, Donavan Fontaine of Gwinn, Brandon Baker of Iron Mountain, Cordell Joslin-Baker of Gladstone; grandmothers Denise Valiquette of Gwinn and Lois Ann Marsh of Savannah, MO; step fathers Richard Marsh of Effingham, KS, Ryan Fontaine of Appleton, WI and Bobby Parsley of Gwinn, uncles Joseph Valiquette, Jr. of Escanaba and James Marsh of Elwood, KS and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers Gordon Daniel Baker, Sr., Joseph Valiquette, Sr. and Arthur Marsh; grandmother Cheryl Baker; aunt Christine “Tean” Baker and uncle Adam Baker.
A celebration of life gathering, with a meal to be served, will be held at the Escanaba Civic Center from 2:30 to 6:30, Saturday February 1, 2025.
