Geraldine Tyler Obituary

Geraldine L. Tyler, age 89, of Gladstone, passed away Friday morning, November 6, 2020 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. She was born on July 24, 1931 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Arthur and Theresa (Mitchel) Manning. Geraldine graduated from Holly High School in 1948. The former Geraldine Manning married Ralph Tyler in Holly, MI and he preceded her in death in 1988. Geraldine was employed at the Holly Spring Factory and later employed as the sales manager of the Hughes and Hatcher Clothing Store in Flint, MI. She moved to Rapid River in 1975 and later relocated to Gladstone. Geraldine served as a volunteer at the Red Cross. She greatly enjoyed living in the Upper Peninsula and everything the outdoors had to offer – especially fishing and hunting. Geraldine also wintered in Florida for several years.

Geraldine L. Tyler is survived by her children, Lee (Jenny) Tyler of Holly, MI, Buzz (Mary Beth Ansell) Tyler of Rapid River, and Jodi (Rod) Dawley of Rapid River; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Geraldine was preceded in death by her special friend, Sandy Sanderson of Gladstone.

Private family services were held. Burial took place in Lakeside Cemetery in Holly, MI. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Christian Park Healthcare Center for providing Geraldine with exceptional love and care.
