Francis Townsend Obituary

Francis E. Townsend, age 76, of Escanaba passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at U.P. Heath Systems-Marquette. He was born November 15, 1947 in Escanaba, MI and was the son of William and Catherine (Britz) Townsend. Francis graduated from Escanaba High School, moved to Illinois, and worked on the assembly line for building caterpillar tractors and in the early 1990’s moved back to Escanaba and worked as a greeter a Meijer Grocery Store.

Francis is survived by sons Kevin (Amber) Townsend and John Townsend; sisters Donna Schrader and Debbie (Bill) Brunette; brother Donnie Schrader and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Janet Schrader.

Private family services were held at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba.
