Faye A. Holmes

Faye Arleen Holmes, age 67, of Gwinn, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at her home. She was born on August 8, 1952 in Escanaba, the daughter of Charles and Almira (Roberts) Wyatt. Faye was raised in Arnold and attended Gwinn High School. The former Faye Wyatt married Robert “Bob” Holmes on September 6, 1969 in Pell City, AL. Together, the couple shared 50 years of marriage and raised 6 children. Faye and Bob lived in Taylor, MI until 1982 when they moved to Escanaba where Bob received his nursing degree through Bay de Noc Community College. The couple lived in Escanaba for a few years, moved to Arnold, and later to Gwinn in 1989. Faye was a hardworking homemaker and cared for her husband and children. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing, making ceramics, and fishing. She also enjoyed keeping her husband and family inline!

Faye Arleen Holmes is survived by her husband, Robert Holmes of Gwinn; 6 children, Bobby (Janie) Holmes of Gwinn, Laura Miron of Ann Arbor, MI, Jeffrey LeRoy Wyatt Holmes of Gwinn, Joshua Charles (Amy) of Munising, Shelby Fay Pinkerton of Ohio, and Dakota Holmes of Gwinn; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchilden; 2 sisters, Lois Olmstead-Wyatt of Arnold, and Rosemary Miron of Escanaba; and 1 brother, LeRoy (Janice) Wyatt of Arnold.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Almira Wyatt.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Faye will follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Fran DeGroot of St. Anne Catholic Church officiating. A light luncheon will be served in the Anderson Funeral Home reception room during the visitation.
