Elsie Marie Anderson

Elsie Marie Anderson, age 89, of Escanaba, passed away Sunday morning, November 8, 2020 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. She was born on May 11, 1931 in Ensign, MI, the daughter of Axel and Signe Anderson. Elsie was raised and attended school in Ensign and later Gladstone. She worked at the Gladstone Canning Factory for a few years before performing housework for families in the Escanaba and Gladstone area. Elsie later worked at Bay de Noc Community College in the kitchen as a cook. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and working on embroidery.

Elsie M. Anderson is survived by her daughter, Clara Forshey of Kenosha, WI; 3 grandchildren, Andrew Forshey, Tammy (Anthony) Clark, and Jerry (April) Forshey; 5 great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Dakota, Zachary, and Kylee; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jean Savage of Spalding, MI; special friend, Delores Fredrickson of Escanaba; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Laurie Forshey; 3 brothers, Albert, Torval, and Walter; and 2 sisters, Alice and Gladys.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba.
