Eino J. Siirila, Jr. of Rapid River, Michigan, passed away on January 13, 2024, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.
Eino was born in Detroit, MI on October 7, 1941, to Eino and Violet (Wieneski) Siirila, Sr.
He enlisted in the United States Marines and upon his honorable discharge, he married his first love, Helen Bradford. Together, they had four children and Eino had two children previously.
He ran his own heating and air conditioning business for many years before finally making the decision to move to the Upper Peninsula to enjoy life and continue raising his family. After losing Helen, he married Sue Johnson, who has three children of her own to add to the family.
More than anything, Eino loved spending time with his family, whether it be outdoors, at family gatherings, or just hanging out at home. He enjoyed helping people in any way he could, and he met and made many friends along the way.
In his retirement he spent each day enjoying life any way he could.
Eino is survived by his wife Sue; children Darlene (Jerry) Clausen, Kenneth Siirila, Danielene (Marvin) Stokes, Michelle Siirila, Eino Siirila III, and Sarah (Rob) Froberg; step-children Lonnie Johnson, Shannon Johnson, Katie (Nathan) Raspor; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first love Helen; sister Dora; and granddaughter Paige.
A celebration of Eino’s life will be held in the summer.
