Dr. David Millard Locke

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. David Millard Locke, who departed this life on March 7, 2025, in Gainesville, Florida. Born in Michigan, Dr. Locke dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge and the education of future generations. He served as a distinguished professor at the University of Florida, where his commitment to academic excellence and mentorship left an indelible mark on both colleagues and students alike. Prior to his tenure at the University of Florida, he held a faculty position at the University of Chicago, where he also contributed significantly to his field.

Dr. Locke is remembered not only for his intellectual contributions but also for his unwavering support and kindness towards those who had the privilege of knowing him.

 Burial will take place at 10:00 am Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba, MI.
