Dolores F. Salach

Dolores F. Salach, age 92, of Bark River, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at Cedar Hill Assisted Living in Bark River. She was born on March 28, 1929 in Cook County, Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frances and Helen (Bryk) Kazanowski. The former Dolores Kazanowski married Stan Salach on February 12, 1955 in Chicago and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2002. Together, the couple shared 47 years of marriage. She was employed by R.R. Donelly in Chicago, IL for many years until her retirement. Dolores and her husband, Stan, loved the outdoors and loved to fish – the main reason for the retirement in the Upper Peninsula. The Stonehouse Restaurant was her favorite spot she frequented often. Her wit and sense of humor were well known by friends and people with whom she surrounded herself. Dolores was a very private and caring woman. The DiPuma family became her family in the U.P. An extra special place will always remain in the hearts of Julian, Paolo, and Sebastien. Dolores was loved and will be deeply missed. “Thanx for the memories.”

Dolores is survived by her brother, Stan (Laurie) Kowalcyk of CA; and cousins, Mike and Dan Kwiatkowski of IL.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Douglass; and special Aunt Gene.

Private family graveside services will be held in the spring of 2022 in Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba. Memorials are requested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. A special thank you the Cedar Hill Assisted Living in Bark River for the wonderful care and compassion given to Dolores.
