Dolores Ann (Lockhart) LaFond

Dolores Ann LaFond, age 77, of Rapid River, MI passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba. She was born November 22, 1948, Escanaba, MI and was the daughter of Orval and Ruby (Sheply) Lockhart. Dolores graduated from Escanaba High School in 1965. The former Dolores Ann Lockhart married James LaFond on January 21, 1966, in Kingston, MI and together the couple shared 59 years of marriage.

Dolores was a stay-at-home mom, later working for the Darton Archery Plant, working in the assembly and paint department. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing bingo and going to the casino.

Dolores is survived by husband James O. LaFond of Rapid River, son James A. (Chanda) LaFond of Glennie, MI; 2 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers Bill, Joe, John and Ken; sisters Ileen, June, Janice, Eilain, Judy, Betty and Vickey and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Gladstone. Graveside prayers will be held at 12:30 pm Wednesday at the Rapid River Cemetery. Burial will follow.
