Diane L. Murray

Diane L. Murray, age 72, of Gladstone, MI, went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2021 with her family by her side. Diane was born on June 6, 1948 in Ishpeming, MI to Edward and Carmen (Jenkins) Ecklid. She was raised in Negaunee, MI. Diane married Steve Murray on October 29, 1966. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage and raised three beautiful children, Shelly, Steven, and Shawn in Baraga, MI. Diane’s interests included spoiling her family, fishing, gardening, knitting, and she loved her cat, Daisy.

Diane is survived by her loving husband, Steve Murray; her children, Shelly (Patrick) DeBone, Steven (Tina) Murray, and Shawn Murray (Tammy Robeson); her brother, Mike (Sandy) Ecklid; grandchildren, Joseph (Mikala) DeBone, Timothy DeBone, Andrew DeBone, Chelsea Murray, Taylor (Joe) Hyrkas, Cameron Murray, Zachary Murray, Brooke Murray, Gaven Picciano, Gabrielle Picciano, John Messer, and Lily Messer. She’s also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Carmen Ecklid; as well as her siblings, Donna Rogers, and Katherine Gaboury.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at New Life Church in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Diane will follow at 1:00 p.m. with her grandson, Joey DeBone officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services. Diane’s family would like to thank the caretakers at U.P. Healthcare and Hospice for lovingly caring for her in recent years.
