Dale Herbert Jensen, age 84, of Ralph, MI, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at his home in Ralph. He was born on May 15, 1937 in Escanaba, the son of Henry Beauchamp and Genevieve Jensen. Dale was raised by his father, James “Jim” Hurkman, Sr., and mother, Genevieve, in Arnold, MI and graduated from Gwinn High School with the Class of 1957. He then enlisted into the U.S. Army where he served his country for 3 years and also 3 additional years in the U.S. Army Reserves. After the service, Dale sailed on the Great Lakes for a short while. He then joined the Teamsters as a truck driver where he hauled all types of material throughout the Upper Peninsula until his retirement at the age of 62. Dale married the former Carol Manninen on October 27, 1984. Together the couple shared 37 years of marriage. He was a member of the VFW in Felch and the American Legion in Channing. Dale served as past fire chief and custodian for the West Branch Township. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors spending time hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Many of his works of talent including his log cabin bird feeders and pool table lights can be found throughout the Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin.
Dale Jensen is survived by his wife, Carol Jensen of Ralph, MI; daughters, Faith Ann (Jerry) Sebeck, Peggy Jensen, and Amy (Todd) Constantino; step-daughters, Lisa (Dan) Casey, and Angela (Ryan) Phinney; sister, Tina (Roger) Hiironen; step-mother, Bonnie Hurkman; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by son, Marty; and siblings, Steve, Randy, and Jimmy Hurkman.
A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EST), Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Wells Township Hall in Arnold, MI.
